THE
THREE MINUTE GOSPEL They march him through the streets of town, Laughing and mocking for the cross He is bound. They drive nails in His hands, Why do they do this to an innocent man. They lift Him up to the top of a tree, and drive a nail through His feet. With a crown of thorns upon His head, knowing that He'd soon be dead.I stand looking up, and what do I see, just a man hanging on a tree. His precious blood runs down His face. Oh my God what a disgrace. Over the murmur and the jeers. I here Him say in a voice of tears. Father forgive them for what they've done. Cause they don't know I am your Son. My mouth is dry, My strength is gone, help me father your anointed one. They pierce His side, and take Him down. And to the tomb He is bound. We sit and cry three nights and days. For we have lost His wonderful ways. My hope is gone, my heart is weak. Cause my Lord now lies asleep. We can't believe what they have done, to God's only beloved Son. On the first day of the week, as I was waking from my sleep. Came Mary knocking at my door. Filled with joy as before. He lives! He lives! I heard her say. I saw Him, this very day.Well she begged and pleaded for us to come. So we went with her on the run. As we came near His burial site. My heart was pounding and filled with fright. The stone that sealed His earthly grave. Had been moved over out of the way. I looked in and there on the ground lay the burial cloth in which He was bound. I cried out. What have they done, to my Lord, God's only Son. And peter looking. Saying this can't be, I saw His dead body hanging on the tree.We all went home trembling with fear and yes we were shedding many tears. We sit and wonder at what had been done, trying to reason each and every one. When there in our midst' stood a man. Showing us the holes in His hands. We were all unbelieving, saying this can't be. For we all saw Him hanging on the tree.Oh ye hard hearted children why can't you believe. These things ought to happen, so My Glory you'd see. Now, if you will listen to me my friend, I'll tell you what He said to us then. Go ye out and tell each man that My Kingdom Is At Hand. To open their heart and let me in, So I can be their very best friend.Well He led us out, towards the Dead Sea. But only as far as Bethany. Then He lifted his hands and blessed us all. And strengthen us so no one would fall. And then He was taken up out of our sight. To sit with the Father, in His Glorious Light. Well, friend that's my story. What more can I say. For God commanded me to tell it this way. A-men |
